Mountain bike riding in Oak Cliff, TX

I'm quickly realizing that I'm a road bike person, through and through. Today I went mountain bike riding with a pretty good friend and with Monte. Naturally, Monte picks this up like he never put it down. I would expect this since he grew up riding observed motorcycle trials. This should come as second nature to him. I, on the other hand, never threw a leg over even a dirt bike until we met about 8 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy mountain bike riding, but perhaps I just need to start out at my own pace. Ease into it a bit and work my way up to riding with folks who have been doing it for years and years. I look forward to that opportunity. For now though, I'll stick to road bikes.
